Getting Started

Equipment

As with any hobby, craft, profession, or sport, the right tools are needed to produce better results. Below is a list of basic tools you should have to be successful:

  • A functional drum set, bass drum pedal, and a drum throne

  • A basic set of cymbals - one pair of hi-hat cymbals, one crash cymbal, and one ride cymbal. Contact me if you don't know what this means!

  • A practice pad

  • A metronome or metronome app... There are many to choose from!

  • Drumsticks... I recommend size 5A

  • A 3-ring binder to organize and keep all of your lesson materials

  • Access to the Internet

  • A cell phone - I use a free app called Slack to communicate, share, and send recordings to students

  • An email address

  • A desire to learn and have fun at the same time

Cost

Four lessons are provided on a monthly / 4-week cycle.

  • 30-minute weekly lesson - $25 weekly, monthly $100

  • 1-hour weekly lesson - $45 weekly, monthly $180

  • A multi-family student discount is offered.

*The first no-obligation lesson is always free! It gives us a chance to meet and chat about how you want lessons to help you in your musical life.
